I am a Blogger . . . Finally!

B ehind on so many things … professionally and personally … when am I going to improve my time management skills?
L ate for almost everything anymore … my parents certainly taught me better! Sometimes I’m as slow as a turtle.
O pen to new ideas … I am a lifelong learner, and I love to try new things.
G rateful for the many blessings bestowed upon me … “Life is good!” Thank you, God!!
E xcited about learning new things … WRITING IN THE DIGITAL CLASSROOM, I anticipate, will assist me in taking my teaching to the “next” level.
R enewed in my enthusiasm for teaching … after a few challenging years, this year is so wonderful … I love my classes and want to give them my best.

Introducing Nancy

I am in my 27th year of teaching. I currently teach junior and senior English at the Academy for Technology and Academics in Conway. I graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia with both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education in Secondary English. My entire career has been spent in Horry County Schools, beginning at Conway High School and then moving to Aynor/Conway Career Center, which became the Academy for Technology and Academics in 2006.

My husband Bryan and I have two children, our son Jesse (age 13) and our daughter Molly (age 10). They attend Conway Middle School and Conway Elementary School respectively.
